Anti-Bullying, Positive School Behavior and More!

October is Anti-Bullying Month-Please check the new link I have added under "more."  It is a very good website that you can look at with your children.  The kids videos explain bullying in a very understandable manner.
I think everyone is now able to access the Room K calendar from the website-some children missed their sharing turn, please remember sharing and book chart are monthly activities that are required.
There have been many children tardy in Room K and I want to stress the importance of arriving for school early. It is very disruptive if children walk in late as we have to stop our morning meeting to collect cafeteria money, etc.  Please arrive at school by 7:5 0 and have your children line up on the kindergarten yard.  The first bell rings at 7:55 and we start class at 8:00.  We will have an activity from 8:00-8:10.  Children who are tardy will miss that activity.  Let's try for 100% on time attendance in Room K!  This is a life habit that continues into adulthood.  Thank you for your support.  I am attaching a link to a website that I have found very helpful.  It is the Love and Logic Institute.  I think this particular page, and the journal is very important:  Ready for School.

Please read this and give me feedback!

i read "parenting with love and logic" a few years ago and i have mixed feelings about it i think it has some great ideas "pearls" and i like the idea of "natural consequences" however - i think the consequences should be appropriate for the child's age and emotional development.

I agree. We must always take age and especially developmental age, into consideration. I like the idea of coming from a place of love, and teaching children to use some logic before acting.
