The April showers didn't dampen our spirits Friday as we ventured out on our field trip to America's Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College. We had a great time despite the drizzly weather and the the kids enjoyed both the animal show and seeing the animals up close. A big thank you to Amy, Suzanna,, Holden, Brie, Emily for attending the trip and helping so much with the children!
Sharing: This week we will not have sharing. We will be leaving early for our field trip. Please help your child practice their Nursery Rhyme presentation for the future sharing dates in April. They are on our class calendar. Bodhi did an excellent job dressed as the "black sheep" in Baa Baa Black Sheep last Friday! The children may dress as the character, use puppets, drawings, act out the rhyme, sing....get creative!

As you know, this Friday the entire TK & Kindergarten will be going on a field trip to the America's Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College. We will leave on the buses as soon as they arrive. The field trip is paid for by TEP. Parents attending will pay $3.00. We will eat a snack right when we arrive and then we will see a 40 minute animal show to learn about some of the special animals at this unique zoo. The handlers are all students training to work with animals. Last year my former Topanga student Charlotte was a graduating student and it was so special to have her show us the animals. Charlotte now works with a giraffe lions at The Lion Habitat Ranch in Henderson, NV! I stopped in to visit her on our way to Glacier National Park last summer. |
