Speech and Language-This week we will practice the sound of initial /f/.  We will make fish bowls and our snack of figs will be provided by Zoe!

Sharing-This week the Eeyores will share.  Many of the children have been doing an excellent job sharing and practicing their oral language skills.  It really helps to give them picture cues for what they practiced saying on the back of the page or on a separate page.

This is Green Week!  We will wear green on Wednesday this week due to the Thursday holiday.

This week we will meet Mr. C who wears a colossal hat.  We will practice the sound of /c/, how to correctly print the both capital and lower case c as well as complete our Alphabet Journals.  We will also work in our journals, rhyming books and use both movement and music to internalize the letter and sound.

We will begin our Number 5 Book, work in our September Math Journal as well as play math games and use our Stargfall program.

Last week we met Mr. Alex our Planet Bravo teacher, and this Friday we are going to go up to the computer lab for the first time. We are also going on our first science "hike." which for us will be a walk very close to the classroom to begin with.  As the children grow and mature we will venture further away from the classroom.

Next Monday we will be sending home notices letting you know if your child is in jeopardy of receiving a below proficient grade on our upcoming report card.  Most children will receive a notice with an area to work on.  Do not be alarmed, help your child improve by supporting our behavior standards, reviewing work sent home, and helping with homework.  If you have any questions, there is a place on the paper to comment.  All must be signed and returned. Thank you!

Our Schedule this Week:

Monday-Dance, Buddies
Tuesday-Speech & Language, P.E.
Wednesday-Green Day, Art Trek, Yoga, Council
Thursday-Holiday-No School
Friday-Morning Assembly at 8:00 (please be there!), Planet Bravo, Homework Review, Sharing, Science

Thank you all for your support for our Coyote Run.  Don't forget to turn in your pledges!

A big thank you to those of you able to help out in Room K.  It makes learning so much fun and so much more effective in small groups.
