![]() This week we will meet Mr. I and take the opportunity to integrate math and reading. Mr. I has inch rulers all over his red shirt and we will be measuring with both non-standard (Tag Bags, Unifix Cubes, string, etc.) and standard ( rulers, tape measures) measurement instruments. We will measure our class pumpkin, pumpkin seeds, classroom objects and objects outdoors during outdoor classroom time. Did you know that the vowel letters wear special red shirts and have a "letter light" on their shirt? This is because they "light the way to words." Take a peek at Mr. I's video here.

![]() H is for Halloween and we are getting very excited for this upcoming holiday in Room K. You can find our classroom decorated with Alphabet Ghosts and Shape Bats. This week in science class, Ms. Monks will guide us in a pumpkin activity, estimating our weight and the pumpkin's weight and measuring diameter. We will continue next week with seed estimation and counting. If you would like to roast the pumpkin seeds for us, let me know! ![]() Here is Mr.. G and his gooey gum! You can listen to his song here. We will learn that /g/ has two sounds, the "hard g" sound and the "soft g" sound that sounds like a /j/. The explanation is, that Mr. G is such good friends with Ms. J that sometimes she lets him borrow her sound! This children love these stories and it helps them remember the different sounds letters can make! The gratitude comes from me! I am so grateful for my wonderful Room K students and parents. I am thrilled to announce another fully funded Donor's Choose project and look forward to the wonderful art supplies on the way for our children! Thank you! |
