Speech & Language: This week we will practice the sound of /K/. We will make clocks and our snack of clementines will be provided by Lyla.
Our Topanga Elementary Charter School Art Gallery show will begin this week on Tuesday with a reception on Saturday the 24th. Thank you Amy Terranova for helping the children to create beautiful art!
This week we will meet Ms. T and her tall teeth. This is a helpful reminder that February is dental health month and we hope all children have developed the practice of brushing their teeth regularly and being checked by a dentist. We will continue to learn about American symbols and George Washington, whose birthday is this week. We will continue practicing math, counting by 5s, 10s and 20s. We are also continuing to work on patterns, addition and subtraction.
In Physical Education we will be practicing balancing, catching and throwing. In Science we will study reptiles.
Our Schedule:
Monday: President's Day-no school
Tuesday: Speech & Language, P.E., Let's Find Out! magazine
Wednesday: Art Trek, Yoga, Council
Thursday: P.E., Second Step
Friday: Planet Bravo, Homework Review, Sharing, Science
Remember next week is Parent Conference week for optional parent conferences and report cards will be given out or sent home. A sign up sheet will be emailed soon.
We need a parent to create a Room K memory book This can easily be done on our Shutterfly site with the many photos we have there. If you are interested, I have the Memory Books from many of my classes so you can look through them and get ideas. It would be a good idea to begin now and then add in the future activities so the book can be finished and ordered by May. The children like to have it the last week of school to look through and to remember all of the fun we had (and are having) this year. Please contact me if you feel able and willing to do this. It is a great project to do from home for those unable to regularly volunteer in class.
Thank you to all of our wonderful classroom volunteers for helping with so many activities and helping the children in Room K (and me too)!
Mrs. W.
