Sharing: This week the Eeyores will share.

"I'm Mr. X, and I'm different from everyone else! I walk differently—on my hands, not my feet. I talk differently too. I even see the world differently—upside-down! I like me even though I'm different from you. I like you even though you're different from me. Being different is excellent."
What a great opportunity to talk to your child about acceptance! We read many stories in class about the differences we notice and ways that we can accept our friends for who they are. We live in a diverse world and our classroom is a little microcosm of that.
We are continuing to write our fairy tales and the children are finding the project so exciting. They love to hear each other's stories.
We are expanding our math and reading programs adding the computer programs Lexia (purchased by our school) and Zearn, a math program. Both progress at the child's level and are going to be used during reading rotations. The children have completed many of the Starfall activities, and as many of you know, are making excellent progress reading. These new additions will provide variety and options for individually paced advancement.
Thanks to Reneé and her parents, and Amy for a fantastic Art Trek lesson in Japanese printing!
Thanks to Mrs. Benor for our science lesson about milkweed plants. Each child planted seeds in a small hanging garden which will be planted at school to attract butterflies!
Thank you all for providing rain gear for your children! It really helps and it looks like we will need it again Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday!
