Please help your child by insisting that they do their best work on all homework(refer to the checklist that is attached each week). It is very important that the same standards are held at school and at home. Some children have not been completing their sharing assignments. We will discuss this in detail at Parent Conferences, but please be aware that all assignments are posted on the class website, for the entire year. Room K children cannot read and find this out for themselves, so they really depend on you to help them prepare assignments.
Warning! Label all clothing, lunchbox containers, and backpacks with your child's first and last name! We do our best to make sure everything ends up in the right place, but if we find something, it's nice to return it to it's owner.
Science:
This week in science Ms. Monks will be working with the children on using a ruler for measuring. You can help you child practice at home. They love to measure household objects!
P.E.: Coach Harold is working on basketball skills with the children and they really enjoy practicing with our hoops on the playground. You can practice throwing and catching, dribbling and passing at home. This is great for eye-hand coordination and they will feel like pros at school
November is the perfect month to practice gratitude with your child. Help them think of things that they are grateful for and we will be using it as a topic in Council. I am very grateful to have such a wonderful group of children to work with every day and such an amazing group of involved and concerned parents. Thank you and I look forward to Parent Conferences!
