Sharing: This week the Eeyores will share-please be sure to read the new sharing topic on this site!

We will begin to alternate Lexia and Starfall during our reading rotations computer time. Lexia is an excellent program (purchased for the entire school) and each child works at their own level, progressing through the program. Last week we sent home the letter of explanation and your child's individual bar code. Please let me know if you have any questions logging on to the program. This is an optional home activity and if you choose to do Lexia at home, please sit with your child to be sure they are understanding the activities. It is recommended to complete 15 minutes per week for TK and 40 minutes per week for Kindergarten students. We generally complete 30 minutes per week during reading rotations and of course any additional time spent at home will allow your child to make more rapid progress and begin reading sooner. This program is in addition to all of our reading activities and games.
Fine motor skills are very important to early education writing success. Coloring and using small manipulatives including puzzles, Lego, water beads, tweezer activities, etc. can all boost fine motor skills and muscle development in the hands and fingers.
