Sharing this week on Friday morning, right before our Field Trip, will be the Winnie-the-Pooh group.

We will focus on the sound of initial /f/. We will make fishbowls and have figs for a snack!
This Blog has a lot of information. Please help your child be successful by reading the information and asking questions if you need to. The best way to ask a question is to send me an email.
Our Field Trip to the Getty Center is this Friday! Hopefully we will have our class shirts before then and everyone can wear their shirt to the Getty. I am sending home a note about special instructions for packing lunches. This is going to be a wonderful Kindergarten experience.
Sharing:
The Piglet group did an amazing job sharing and really raised the bar! Each child in the group was prepared with three statements and a picture. Some used photos, others drew pictures and some had both. All children projected their voices and answered three questions from their classmates. I was really proud of them all!
Donors Choose Project:
I am sending home a permission slip from Donors Choose. As part of the thank you package for each completed project, we take pictures of the children using the materials. Please complete the permission slip and I will keep it on file. All of our materials have arrived and we are having fun with them already! Thank you to those of you who donated.
I am working with Tristan's mom, Carolyn, to create another Donors Choose project focusing on gardening. Carolyn will head up our class garden and we are going to get materials for the children to use during gardening time. I will send out the link as soon as the project is online.
Computers/Planet Bravo:
We had a fantastic lesson with Planet Bravo in our class Computer Mini-Lab. All children participated and were actively engaged in learning to manipulate the mouse. We had P.E. with Coach Harold (Isabel's dad) and are learning about personal space and locomotor movements.
Big Buddies:
We met our Big Buddies on Friday. I do not assign specific buddies but we all work together and get to know each other. Each buddy read to a group of children and we had a great time playing a bit on the playground too.
Monthly Book Charts:
Please remember to turn in the Monthly Book Charts. These can be found on the website and printed at home. If you need me to send home a hard copy, just let me know. I have had one turned in so far. They are due by the end of September.
Raz-Kids:
You have all been given access to the great reading program on Raz-Kids.com. If you have any trouble or questions please ask me. Have your child complete one book each day Monday-Thursday. This will be considered part of our homework.
Homework:
Please leave the rubric attached. It is the form on which we give you feedback and put your child's sticker. Please make sure you help your child do well by completing everything listed on the rubric. Homework must be turned in every Friday!
Volunteer Reminder:
Have you completed volunteer training? Have you turned in your TB test results? Please let me know if you are now an official Topanga Elementary School Volunteer!
