Sharing: This week we will begin our new sharing topic. To find the October sharing letter, please look under the "more" tab on our this website! This month the Piglets will share first. Remember to help your child prepare 3 sentences about the topic. Visual aides are helpful!

We will continue our multi-modality approach learning the letters and sounds through games, songs, Alphabet Journal writing, rhyming books, listening center, computer software and Handwriting Without Tears. Variety is necessary for the children but so is structure, so we have a routine using all of these forms of learning. I am amazed at the speed the children are learning and it is a joy to watch them complete their work and move through our four reading centers each day.
Our math program allows for differentiation and variety through computer software, small guided lessons, whole group lessons, math games and individual reinforcement. Have your children been chanting the correct ways to write the numbers? Ask them to tell you how to make a number and see if they can remember the chants we've learned in class!
A huge thank you to those of you who have been able to help in the classroom and/or by taking things home to prepare. We will have lots of opportunities as we enter this fun Halloween month! Remember to turn in your field trip permission slips and your mid-semester reports if you haven't already.
