Ms. E is such a positive role model! She loves to exercise and move, just like the kids in Room K! Notice she has her "letter light" which signals that she is a vowel letter. Here is a fun link. We will continue our movement with daily stretching, PE on Wednesday and yoga on Thursday and Friday. We also take special play times in our "backyard" i.e. the playground, in the afternoon and the children really enjoy the private playground time.
With the new month, comes a new sharing assignment and share dates. Please check the website calendar and sharing assignments page for more information.
Did you know that TEP sponsors Art Trek? We have two fabulous Art Trek teachers, Jessica (Timo's mom) and Chua (Noah's mom) who come in to teach us bi-monthly on Tuesday afternoons. The children love and look forward to this opportunity.
A big part of this year is for both parents and children to learn the routines of school. If you have any questions, please take the time to ask. If you are not clear about assignments (such as homework) please let me know. I attach a grading rubric to the homework each week. Those are the expectations and children depend on parents to make sure they understand what to do. Please be sure your child completes the homework following the guidelines, including neat and careful coloring of all items on the page. This is not busy work. It is a reinforcement of fine motor skills taught daily in class. Check for proper crayon/pencil grip and help your child remember to use their "helper hand" and keep their writing arm still, moving only the wrist and fingers. If you would like more information on handwriting please ask. The neurological connectors formed while learning this skill are very hard to correct if learned incorrectly. This is why we stress the correct posture, pencil grip and letter formation.
Thank you, as always, for all of the help, support and devotion to your children.
