Have you been talking to your children about the healthy food groups? We call it "high five," which means that the meal includes something from each of the five food groups. Help your child pack a lunch that meets these standards as during lunch, we talk about this. We will continue working on our book, completing activities that reinforce the importance of healthy eating and limited sugars. There is some great information on the Dairy Council website here, about the program we are using, including some games you can play at home.
Thanksgiving:
We will be talking about Thanksgiving and the importance of gratitude and appreciation for all that we have during the week and have a special treat on Wednesday when Canyon (River's mom), who is Native American, will come with us on a short hike to the amphitheater during our Wednesday Outdoor Classroom time (1:30-2:30). Please join us if you can (no little siblings though) as Canyon shares Native American culture and stories with the children. I am sure River will be very proud!
Speech and Language snack: Chua Jubb
Sharing: This week is sharing for the Tigger group.
There will be no sharing during December. The Thursday (12:30-1:30) before Winter Break will be our class holiday party. Friday before break is the Holiday Program with two performances, both the same, at 8:30 & 10:45. There is early dismissal that day, at 12:35.
