Manners Matter:
During our Friday morning assembly our principal, Mr. K, mentioned the difficulties we are having with some students. There are some students who do not follow the school and District rules (Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible). There are some students that do not complete their classwork, refuse to do work assigned, do not complete projects. This is a school-wide dilema and many schools are facing similar difficulties. It is important to establish a school culture that is respectful and that students are held accountable for maintaining high standards. Additionally, please remember to be respectful during assembly: sit in our class line, pay attention to the speaker, avoid side-conversations. DO NOT enter the classroom or wait by the classroom.
I am happy to say that I see very little of this in Room K. Our students are, for the most part, respectful and hard working. They are generally kind to each other and helpful. This is in large part due to the high expectations we maintain and the wonderful support we get from the parents in Room K. This is very much appreciated! Please continue this good work as your children matriculate through the grades and encourage other children you know to do so. It takes a village to raise responsible citizens!

Exciting news! We are going to begin our fairy tale writing by exploring with fairy tale story cards. The children will have the opportunity to create their own stories together using the cards as prompts. This is in preparation for our Fairy Tale books.
