Parent Conferences will begin on 11/6 and continue the following week. There is no school on Veterans' Day, the 11th. I will be sending a sign up sheet via email. Please sign up for a conference. At this time we will discuss your child's progress and report card.
We had a wonderful field trip to The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum. The trip was organized, educational and fun. The children participated in stage combat, theater games, dance and music. We saw a performance of the story Ferdinand the Bull and the children all had an opportunity to "share" (perform) on the stage too. It was a great day! A big thank you to TEP for paying for the bus and the field trip!
This week we will continue our regular program in language arts and in math we will be exploring patterns. Ms. Justison will be beginning a nutrition unit sponsored by the Dairy Council. We will talk about the 5 food groups and discuss the importance of eating from all 5 groups. You will receive a parent letter explaining the program. It is a perfect lead up to Thanksgiving (Can you believe it is almost November?) and a great way to raise awareness about healthy eating. Your children will soon be talking about healthy eating from all 5 groups!
We will work on social skills using Second Step, Council and Conscious Discipline. We will begin having Terrific Tuesday Art with Dina, who has generously volunteered to teach an art lesson every week in addition to the Art Trek lessons. This is fantastic! I am sure you have noticed the Halloween art coming home. Ms. Justison has been adding to her repertoire of reading and math with some cute and creative art lessons.
