Sharing: The Winnie-the-Poohs will share this week! Our Theme is "Toys on Parade" and the assignment is on this site under Monthly Sharing Assignments.
This month begins our second semester of school and with it, we are beginning something new. As part of the weekly homework, each student will use the Raz-Kids site to begin to practice reading beginning with one book per week (more if your child is motivated!). I will be sending home a personal log-on card for each student with all of the information you need to begin along with this week's homework. Please keep it in a safe place.
I have a very specific way I would like you to access the program and I will be reviewing each student's progress each week. I have pre-assigned levels for each student based on their reading levels. Once the student opens their assigned level and selects a book (all books will be read to complete the level) he/she should:
1. Listen to the story
2. Read the story
3. Record yourself reading the story ( I can listen to these)
4. Take the assessment (assessments start after level A)
This program is motivating, and age appropriate. The children will begin to show improvement in their sight word recognition and reading. The best part is that I can view their progress and award points. The children can use the points to buy things for their robots and spaceships. This program can be accessed from many devices.
I am excited to see the children progress in their reading!
We will continue having fun in Room K because, after all, when learning is fun, children learn! Children learn best through play and we will continue to add play into our day through games, songs, music, dance, stories, puppets, learning centers, developing and nurturing friendships.
Our enrichment programs will continue along with our curriculum.
