Wear green on Thursday!
Our first Field Trip will be on Friday, October 23rd. The entire Kindergarten will be going to the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum for the day. We will be participating in storytelling focusing on the story of Ferdinand the Bull, a story about a young bull who does not like to fight. This emphasizes the values of non-violence and acceptance of individual differences. The children will participate in Elizabethan Dance, Stage Combat, Elizabethan Music, Character development, visual arts and enjoy a performance. Please return field trip slips (sent home on 9/21 by Friday 9/25. Volunteer certified parents are welcome to attend! We will ride on a school bus and parents can drive and meet us there.
Let's Find Out Magazine-We enjoy this magazine emphasizing social studies and science every week. There are lots of great online activities and you can access these at home by going to the website listed on the magazine. Our class code is 90290.
This week we will meet Mr. C. You can listen to his song here. We will complete all of our regular letter activities. We will also be continuing our study of attributes in math.
Art Trek-We will begin our Art Trek lessons this week with Dina and Hang. There are possibly other parents who will help out with this great activity.
Big Buddies-Friday we started Big Buddies. We spent the first session getting to know everyone. Next week we will select official Big Buddies. The children were very excited to talk with the "big" kids!
A huge thank you to those of you who have signed up to help in the classroom, with parking duty, frozen treat sales and other school activities. Remember it takes a village and we are all active participants. If you have not signed up, please contact Kelly, or see me at school. We can all work together to make Room K great!
