Sharing: This week the Winnie-the-Poohs will share.
This week we will be learning about plants both in science and in our Benchmark reading unit. With Spring on the horizon, the children are interested in planting things and we will do this with Ms. Benor. I would love to see gardening become a regular weekly or at least bi-weekly activity. We can tend to our gardens and I have garden gloves, watering cans and small shovels.. Please let me know if you are interested in helping this activity become a regular occurrence. I will do my best to accommodate your schedule.
We had a fabulous Art Trek lesson on Friday taught by Renee and assisted by Jessie and Georgie. There new creations based on the artist Rufino Tamayo. The children used pastels and created their own interpretations of sun/moon art. These will be on display in our window gallery next week! All of the art created is being kept in art portfolios which will be on display during Open House and then yours to keep!
Our weekly Council has a lot of meaning for the children. They enjoy the opportunity to share their feelings and being heard. This is evidenced in the fact that recently, children have been wanting to contribute items to our Council Basket. I am so touched that the children are connecting to this special time.
